This Christmas we’ve launched a campaign to end loneliness, focusing specifically on supporting the elderly who are most at-risk and the most isolated amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Our Campaign To End Loneliness comes in three parts. First, there’s a fundraiser, with the mighty One Million Step Challenge to be completed in 30 Days throughout Christmas. Alongside this, there’s also the telephone support – with Chapter One offering friendly chats to over 65’s in the UK who are feeling especially lonely this holiday season. Last but not least, we’re beating away those January Blues by offering all over 65’s living in London a FREE Virtual Date for companionship and romance to lift them up in the New Year.
Our Director, Ella Stearn, is walking one million steps – which is roughly 500 miles – over 30 days throughout the Christmas period as a fundraiser for our Campaign To End Loneliness. The 30 Day Challenge launched on 18th December and will run until 17th January 2021.
All donations will go to Age UK, to provide support, answers and reassurance to older people who have no one else to turn to. You can follow Ella’s progress daily via social media and donate to the fundraiser here.
