Delete your account
You can delete your Chapter One account at any time. There are two ways.
In the app
Open Protagonist › Account › Delete Account, confirm, and your account is deleted. If your account has a password, the app asks for it first.
By email
If you can't open the app, email [email protected] from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We'll confirm it's you and delete the account; you'll get a reply when it's done. You can also write to LibraryThing.com, Inc., doing business as Chapter One, 286 Spring Street, Portland, Maine 04102, USA.
What happens
- Deleting your account is permanent. There is no way to get it back.
- Your profile disappears immediately. Your personal information — your profile, photos, answers, favorites, location and account details — is deleted within 90 days.
- People you messaged keep their copy of the conversation, as with any messaging service.
- Records we must keep by law (for example, purchase and payment records) are kept for as long as the law requires and no longer.
Subscriptions
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through Google Play or Apple, and nothing we do can. Cancel it first in your Google Play or Apple Account subscription settings, or it will keep renewing. See Cancel a subscription.
Just want a break?
You can disable your account instead: Protagonist › Account › Disable Account. You disappear from the app, but everything is kept for your return. Disabling doesn't pause or cancel a subscription either.
